About our training

⌚Training time: 9:30 AM – 12:30 PM Australian Eastern Daylight Savings Time. International participants welcome. 🧡At Embrace Access, we believe communication should empower, not exclude. 🤝In this workshop, neurodivergent trainers combine lived experience of autism with professional expertise as senior speech pathologists to help you create best-practice Social Scripts in-house. 🥇Build your own professional competency writing and designing inclusive written communications for neurodivergent audiences, and people who have communication support needs. In this training, you will learn to: 🧠Plan and structure social scripts. 🧠Write about sensory sensitivities for autistic people. 🧠Use accessible language and inclusive visuals for a range of target groups. 🧠Adapt social scripts for different settings and events. 🧠Review your scripts using evidence-based criteria. 🧠Develop your own social scripts draft in a live training environment with support. This hands-on workshop gives you the knowledge and tools to embed inclusive practice into your communications to boost community engagement and active participation by people living with disability in your programs and events. For groups of 5 or more, contact us to explore workplace training options available online or in person, at a time that suits your team. 📩Questions?  I loved the training! Ruby is a lovely and incredible facilitator, and so articulate. The best thing was the hands on practice, easy read is very easy in theory, but it's so much harder than it appears (for me!) to keep things simple, with fewer words and letters. I could have learned the theory and gotten so little without the practice in session, but given the practice I feel like I have something tangible to take from the session.

The training was brilliant and exceeded my expectations. I thought I had a good understanding and knowledge of the topic, but I learnt an incredible amount! Ruby delivered the training in an accessible and concise format allowing everyone to participate in a way they felt comfortable. I highly recommended this training and am so happy I completed it.

Your training was informative and engaging. I loved learning about this method of communication and can see how it will shape many of our comms pieces going forward. I wrote this quote down from the session 'It's about providing tools to allow more people to join the conversation.' This summed up Easy Read training perfectly for me. I'd highly recommend Embrace Access to anyone looking for Easy Read training.
